Saying Goodbye to Yum Yum

Just before 11:00 AM on Friday, Yum Yum crossed over the Rainbow Bridge to begin her new journey: free from pain and suffering. I firmly believe that she leapt into the arms of our Lord Jesus and will be waiting for us all when it is our time to join her.

She was only with us a few short years, but the impact she had on us all, will last a lifetime. From the way she would steal Katie's seat on the couch; playing with her beloved twist ties; sitting in the sink; jumping up and hanging onto the edge of the cat tree; laying full-length on Mary's legs; sitting on the vent when she was cold; sitting in the kitchen window and watching the birds; stalking Anna while she ate her supper; laying next to me when I was saying my prayers; to walking on the kitchen counter when I was making supper, she imprinted herself on all of our hearts.

Goodbye, Yum Yum. We all loved you dearly and even though you are no longer with us physically, you will forever be with us in our hearts.

    1. It was one of the hardest decisions we had to make. Although she is no longer with us, we will always remember her. She was only with us for four years, but she left a lasting impression on us all.

  4. So sad, this is just heart breaking but you did the right thing. She was in pain and nothing could be done. I enjoyed the pictures of her, what a beautiful cat!

    1. Thank you. I know that time will help heal this pain we are feeling, but now there just seems to be a huge void in our lives. Knowing that she is no longer in pain does provide us with some comfort. Thank you again for your kind words.

  5. I'm so sorry. I know how hard it is to lose our furry family members but the pain of the loss will never replace the happiness she brought. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

    1. It is painful and hard, but you're right, I need to concentrate on the happiness she brought us all. Everywhere I look, I expect to see her. Whenever I walk around a corner, I expect to try and trip me (one of her favorite things to do :) Thank you for your thoughts and prayers: they provide a great deal of comfort to us all.

    1. Thank you for your kind words. I still find myself looking around for her when I go into the kitchen; I expect to see her begging for her deli meat :) Knowing that she is in a better place and is free from pain, makes this heartache a little easier to bear. Thank you again and God Bless
