A Visitor for Breakfast

Yesterday morning while I was washing dishes, all of the birds that were feeding in the backyard suddenly disappeared. I was wondering what could have caused them to scatter so quickly so, when I looked out the window, I saw this guy, most likely a Sharp Shinned Hawk, sitting on the fence...

Yeah, if I were a bird, I would have scattered too.

  1. A young hawk flew in our enclosed patio a couple of years ago and got stuck there! My human had to help it find a way out.

    1. That can be scary! That is one bird I really don't want to have a close encounter with :) We had one fly into our garage several years ago. We had the door cracked a little to cool it off and I guess the hawk was chasing a bird and ended up diving right through the crack and into our garage. After I opened the door, he flew out, but I certainly didn't want to get near him.

    1. Thank you. He comes every week or so, but this was the first time I had the camera nearby and was able to get a picture :)
