Déjà vu

picture of Koko on top of a ladderDéjà vu, it's Monday and I just spent another hour shoveling snow. We received a good 4 inches last night and the driveway and sidewalks needed to be cleared. Instead of the fluffy, white stuff, I was faced with a heavy, slushy, mess. For anyone who has ever shoveled snow, you know the difference. The fluffy stuff is so easy to shovel off and toss onto the lawn; while the slushy stuff turns an enjoyable (to me) job into a labor-intensive chore.

I finally get back inside and all I want to do is sit down for a few minutes and relax. However, it is Christmas break and the kids want food. Okay, they are 13 and 11 years old; old enough to be able to go into the kitchen and make toast or pour a bowl of cereal, right? Well, apparently they are incapable of performing this most simple of tasks. I imagine that if I hadn't come back inside, they may have very well starved to death...and with a refrigerator of food just a few feet away. I think I may have them shovel the back porch.

Okay, I just flipped a coin, like they do in football, and the loser is now shoveling the back porch and the winner is feeding the birds and squirrels, while I am inside where its warm, typing away. I love being a parent!

Oh, yes that's Koko on top of our ladder. He is inspecting our handiwork. Whenever we bring it inside, he just has to climb up to the top.

  1. Hi there,

Love that cat. What kind of cat is he? Thanks for the info on turnip. I am trying to redo my site and well its time consuming and pain don't help a darn thing and my daughter is patiently waiting for me to finish her layout. Just wordpress is complicated. Some days I hate it

    with the constant upgrades.

    Thanks

  3. Koko is a good snoopervisor!

Thanks for the tips about dropping. We've changed to AVG from Avast and hope that will help. It found 10 Trojan horses when we ran it last night :(

  7. Sounds like you have a good grip on parenting--flipping a coin, great idea! You should feed your kids though. Brave cat to go way up there, how is the coming down part?

Have a Merry Christmas with your family!

  8. Chronic Chick Talk: Koko is a Siamese with a mix of Snowshoe and Ragdoll. You're welcome, I wish I could be of more assistance, but I have zero experience with Wordpress. I wish you all the best and have a Merry Christmas:)

Waffle: I never noticed that, but looking at it again, it does look like it. Merry Christmas to you, too:-)

Furkidsmom: I hope it helps. Let me know what you think of AVG. We have the free version and it will tell you that you have trojans, but it won't let you delete them, unless you upgrade.

asmaliana: I like the snow, I just don't like driving in the ice. I was raised in California, so I have very little experience driving in icy conditions.

Dori: Thank you, I'll let him know. Merry Christmas to you, too:)

feefifoto: After falling off of one, I am kind of leery of them, too.

Karen, author of "My Funny Dad, Harry": lol. Going up is fast, but coming down requires the use of his personal chauffeur service...us.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas

  11. BeadedTail: Thanks. I'll let Koko know. My wife is the one that does the inside decorations and when she is on top of the ladder, Koko will climb up the other side and get in her way:)
Merry Christmas to you and yours:)

Mrs. Mecomber: We just got an additional 4 inches last night, which brings us up to almost 9 inches total. If you can share your chili recipe, I'll come and help shovel snow;-)
The garland is decorated with little twinkle lights and has ornaments hanging from it.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  13. Lux: Thank you, I just love getting on the ladder when mommy is using it. That means I get a free ride down. How are you liking Vegas?
