I have received more awards which I would like to share with others. I want to thank you for thinking of me when you present your awards; it really means a lot! As I pass these along, please do not feel obligated to respond in kind. I am doing this to show my appreciation for all your hard work.
I would like to take this time to thank From A Yellow House in England for presenting me with...
Da rules: Link to who gave the award to you; admit 5 addictions; and then pass the award on to 5 other blogs.
My Addictions...
1) this one is easy: Smoking. I started in Grad school and never gave the habit up.
2) Pistachios. I love these things, especially the salty shells.
3) Chicago Connection Pizza. They have the best pizza anywhere. Tons of cheese and just dripping with grease:) Unfortunately, I haven't been able to have one in over 14 months (yes, I am keeping track).
4) Reading. Give me a good book and I can be lost for hours. I am currently reading a book called Shadow Divers. It is about deep sea diving and the discovery and attempts to identify a U-Boat found off the coast of new Jersey. A true story and fascinating to read. I know that wreck diving is one thing I could never do.
5) Cooking. I love experimenting with different foods and combinations. Usually, it turns out pretty good.
I would like to thank Ask Ms Recipe for presenting me with the...
Tahtimbo, you are too kind! :) Congratulations to you on these wonderful awards which you deserve!
ReplyDeleteMy mom shares that reading addiction with you!
I forgot to tell you that those DVDs run on a loop, over and over, but there are lots of bird sounds and funny noises. Those might wake you up! :)
ReplyDeleteLux: Thank you. I have been wanting to pass one along to you for some time now. I can easily get lost in a good book. I wouldn't mind the bird sounds, it would still be better than a 13 pound cat standing on my chest and howling at me:)
ReplyDeleteThank You so much for such a nice award. Enjoy the ones sent to you. Happy Blogging!
ReplyDeletethanks for the fabulous award. i love it!
ReplyDeleteyou can find it here.
Triple awards! Wooo! I have been saving up for an awards ceremony, and this swag makes my trophy shelf tilt! Thanks! Yeeeehaw!
ReplyDeleteI used to be a voracious book reader, but got out of the habit after havng a passel of little ones. But I recently read "Robinson Crusoe" and "The Count of Monte Cristo" which were very enjoyable! I will check out the Shadow Divers book, that sounds right up my alley.
BTW, I apologize for not getting my Chili recipe up yet. I want to post it on my blog with photos, but when I made it last week, I forgot to take the photos. :( I promise I will get it up soon. I also have a great Italian chicken recipe that I need to take photos of. A cooking post without photos is like soup without salt, ykwim?
Wow, a Triple Award! Congratulations on receiving such much deserved awards and thank you so much for thinking of me! What a great way to start my day!
ReplyDeleteAs for your addictions, I love to read too and even on these days where there isn't enough time for anything I HAVE to read every day. As you were describing the pizza, I was planning my trip to Idaho and couldn't believe that you have the restraint to not have any for 14 months! I'm impressed and you are so motivating! Keep up the great work!
Congratulations!! I can't think of a person more or blog more deserving. I simply love your blog.
ReplyDeleteAnd you certainly made some wonderful choices to pass it along too!!:-)
Shelly: You are very welcome;)
ReplyDeleteModern Mom: You're welcome. Wow, that was fast:)
Rebecca: You're welcome. That's okay, I can wait on the recipe. Great idea to include photos, something that I continually forget to do:)
BeadedTail: I have to read at least 1 hour a day, if I don't my day just doesn't seem complete. If you are anywhere near Boise, see if you can give Chicago Connection a try. I for one, will be breaking down and getting one as soon as I reach my target weight. Believe me, it hasn't been easy to restrain myself:-)
Shinade: That is a very kind thing to say. Thank you very much:)
Congrats on the awards, you deserve them! Thanks for passing one on to us. I will have to start thinking of what my addictions are.
ReplyDeleteMelissa Erickson: You are very welcome. I had to think long and hard to come up with 5 :)
