Wanted: Motivation

photo of a cat sleeping in a drumI don't know what's wrong, but for the past several days, I have not had any ambition to do anything productive. Yes, I still exercise and do the cooking and cleaning, but wanting to do anything extra...forget it.

A few years ago, I installed laminate flooring in our living room, dining room and hall way. Now, in order to install the flooring, I needed to remove the base trim from the walls. I was very careful to number each piece and I transferred that number to a corresponding drawing. That way, I would be able to find which piece went where and just install it. Well, those trim pieces are sitting out in the garage and just beckoning me to re-install them. I know it needs to be done, but I just don't have the motivation to do it. Anyway, it looks as if I managed to lose that all-important drawing, so whenever I do get around to re-installing the trim, it's going to be like putting a jigsaw puzzle together.

As you can probably tell from the tempo of this little article, I am even having trouble motivating myself to write this. It just seems that lately, I cannot think of anything to write about. Is it the weather or just a lingering feeling of listlessness that has decided to move into my happy household? I have no idea, but hopefully it will not be staying very long.

Well, I think I've done enough damage for one day, so I'm off to watch the news and maybe put in a really stupid movie.

  1. LOL my DH has never put the base boards trim back, either. Honestly, I don't think he even knows where all of the pieces are anymore, either. (Yikes!)

But it's not just you - I'm having issues with blogging motivation too.

  3. Hence the reason nagging was invented! LOL Just kidding. Everyone needs a little downtime once in awhile to rejuvinate. You'll find your mojo again soon!

  4. I, too, am suffering from a severe lack of motivation. I blame the cold weather and the fact that the end of the year is fast approaching. Being an expert at procrastination, I can now say "I'll do it next year", and totally mean it! My advice is to take some time off - you will feel better for it.

  5. I am SO unmotivated lately. Can't even drop cards or post a LOLCats pic. And by the way, I still don't have my baseboard up yet, either.

I didn't even celebrate Christmas and I have PHD.... it can't be the holidays... is it the weather?! I feel lousy!

  6. If it makes you feel any better, About 5 years ago I had some holes patched in my living room walls. I have yet to repaint the living room and it looks really bad with the white spackle spots....lol

  7. I think your motivation and mine have either gone into hibernation or headed south for the winter. Wherever its at, I wish mine would get back here where it belongs! I cannot get motivated to do diddly. Sigh...where's a stupid movie...
