Contest is now closed.
After visiting Random Number.org, comment #8 is the winner. I would like to congratulate BeadedTail for winning the contest. I will contact you via email in order to obtain your mailing information. I want to thank all of you who entered and I hope that you will come back again for the next giveaway.
When I was a kid growing up, dinners usually consisted of us sitting down at the dinner table and eating something I particularly didn't care for (for some strange reason, I was not a particular fan of green beans and peas). However, about once every month or so, my mom would surprise us with one of my favorite meals: tacos. I can still see her at the stove, browning the meat and then adding the seasoning. We didn't have a lot of money then, so instead of shredding cheddar cheese, she would take American cheese and chop it into tiny pieces, which she would place on each taco. That was over thirty years ago, but I remember it as though it were yesterday.
Now, why would I bore you with my memories of the past? Well, now that I'm a dad, I want to try and make some memories for my own children, so why not add a taco night to the memory vault? For the past several years, I have made it a point to have a taco night once every few weeks. We all like our tacos different, so while I'm cooking the meat, the rest of the family is getting the fixings ready for the main event. Once everything is ready, each person grabs their shells and loads them up on their favorite toppings. Not only does this get everyone involved in preparing the dinner, it also means less work for me (just don't tell them I said that).
If your family already loves tacos, why not put a "family taco night" on the calendar at least once a month? With a variety of seasonings and other complementary products, Old El Paso offers everything you need for fun nights with the family. To make it even more convenient, Old El Paso® has a line of products to satisfy any taste. You can choose from chilies, dinner kits, dips and sides, enchilada sauce, refried beans, shells, taco sauce and salsa. On top of all that, they have a wide array of taco seasoning mixes available, which include flavors like Burrito, Cheesy Taco, Chili, Fajita, and Taco. In addition, for those of us who like less sodium in our diet, they have Mild Taco, which has 40% less sodium.
Before you hit the market to grab your taco fixins, be sure to download their printable coupon for $0.60 off any two Old El Paso products.
Now, some of you may be thinking that after a while, tacos might get boring, but there are many different things you can do with them. For example, you might try Easy Fish Tacos. You take some Old El Paso® taco shells, seasoning mix and taco sauce and battered fish fillets.
Or, since Halloween is just around the corner, how about adding some Tarantula Tacos to your Halloween party menu?
What about making a taco pizza or a breakfast taco (just add some scrambled eggs with the meat: it is awesome!). You can also substitute shredded chicken or pork for the hamburger; it's fun to use your imagination and create new and exciting recipes. In fact, if you have a new recipe and would like to share it with everyone, please send it to me and I will be more than happy to publish it here.
If you want to kick your family taco night up a notch, you can have some fun with El Tacodor, the world´s only family taco night game. With El Tacodor, your family can share a special night at home by challenging one another to quick fire trivia, wordplay, and pantomime. All you need to do is visit El Tacodor to download instructions, a score card, and a challenge sheet.
