Now that's SPOOKY! Thought that was going to be a scary Halloween story just for fun...but, made the hair on the back of my neck stand up too. I think you were wise to leave and though you'll never know what might have happened, I'll bet you were a lot more comfortable when you finally crawled into your own bed that night!
Man that was scary, the hair in the back of my neck still up, good decision to return, I guess those people where alerted too by the strange ranger. This story should be great for this Friday.
Just curious.. did you do any research on the area? I would have been on the internet THAT NIGHT looking for into on area. Maybe a native American village at one point? Or maybe there was once a guy who was a ranger that died out there??
I totally believe in unseen forces, ghosts, and what not.. I can BET that the area you were in had some kind of whacky history and it was so strong that even people who arent typically sensitive to it felt it.
lindsayanng: I should have, but I didn't. This happened before the Internet, so I couldn't do research that way. However, now that you've put the idea in my head, I think I'll do some research today. Thanks for the idea and I'll let you know if I find anything.

ReplyDeleteSuper Creepy! Sometimes you have to listen to your gut feelings.
ReplyDeleteSniffie and the Florida Furkids
Judy: I'm glad we left, but I will always wonder what would have happened had we stayed.
ReplyDeleteLuis: Thanks, I know you're right, but still curious about the big "what if..."
Karen &Gerard Zemek: I have been camping many times and this is the first time anything like this has ever happened...before or since.
PJ: This was the quickest break-down of a camp I ever did. The entire time looking toward the grove.
Furkidsmom: I agree, I've been camping hundreds of times before and after this incident and have never felt anything like what I felt that night.
That is really creepy! I think I would have left after the first group did but then again, I'll only camp in a 5 star hotel!
ReplyDeleteO yikes! I think you were really brave because we would've been gone about the time you were still gathering up wood!
ReplyDeleteBeadedTail: 5 star hotel...sounds great:)
ReplyDeleteLux: That's good :-)
Yikes!
ReplyDeleteChristine and FAZ: Yeah, it was really weird. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend:)
