Disqus or CommentLuv

This is going to be a rather short post, because I need some advice. I have had it with the Blogger commenting system and want to try a more reliable one. Is there anyone out there who uses either Disqus or CommentLuv? What are your thoughts on these systems?

  1. I tried Disqus for a while and there were a lot of times it just didn't work. I ended up going back to blogger comments and lost all of the comments from Disqus. You might read the recent posts from Lynx219 at http://lynx217.blogspot.com/ it has been giving her fits too. I am not familiar with CommentLuv. Hope this helps!

  4. Ann: That's okay, neither do I :) Thanks for coming by, though!

Grace: I've found it difficult to comment on some site using Disqus as well. I sometimes end up having to write my comment all over again.
I know, that's why I want to try another system. I had a reader tell me that it even triggered McAfee virus program when they tried to leave a comment.

  5. Disqus doesn't like me for some reason and I have lots of trouble with it. It seems to be better lately but I wish there were more options out there for comments too.

  6. Hi Tim, I'm sticking with Blogger commenting system. I like it and have had no issues. I haven't looked into either but from commenting on other blogs definitely Disqus gets a bit on the spammy side later after leaving a comment.

  7. BeadedTail: Thank you for letting me know. This is the type of info I need.

Garden Gnome: Thank you. I seem to have a lot of trouble with it. Whenever I try the embedded comments feature, it totally shuts down and it seems like to glitch ever few days and not let someone comment. Although, the spammers seem to have no trouble getting through. I'll have to experiment with a few systems on my other blog and my test blogs to see what works best.

  10. I don't exactly LOVE Disqus, but it's better than Blogger. I didn't know CommentLuv was a commenting system. There's Intense Debate that some people like, but the important thing to me that Disqus has over everyone else is that you can set up your profile to receive replies to your own specific comments only and not have to necessarily subscribe to the entire comment thread.

  11. Nanny Goats In Panties: I just found out that in order to use CommentLuv you now have to use it as a plugin with IntenseDebate. It used to be a stand-alone, but I guess they merged.
I really like the idea about being able to get replies on just my comments. That's great!

Josh: Sure, I'll swing by and take a look. Thank you!

I hate disqus and it hates me. I have the darndest problems when blogs use that system and I try to comment.

Blogger has really been crappy lately, hasn't it? Took forever to publish a post last night and today having problems with comments - AGAIN. Stoopid computers.
